I must admit that I really struggled with this chapter. I realize the principle of this techniqu which is a lot like reverse appliqué but had problems to apply it to my samples. This might be, because my samples didn't seem very inspiraltional to me
This first sample had already been discussed during our last conversation.
For the following samples I first decorated the fabrics with stitch referring to the papers used for the paper samples

One last bonus pic: I overlaid this sample with the remaining fabric from the top layer showing the cut out shapes. As it doesn't lie flat it adds another dimension to the sample, an effect I quite like
