Module 2 - Chapter 11- Paper Samples-Part 1

Design 1: light and dark strips glued horizontally, cut vertically and assembled alternatively

Design 2: Left-over strips in different widths were assembled randomly on the bias (square 16 cm). This square was cut into stripes (4 cm), then into little squares and reassembled.

Design 4: strips of different widths (4, 2, 4 cm), small strip in the middle is of the same light value, but smaller scale, which can't be seen as the strip is too small.

 

Design 5: strips with small and bold characters, cut on the bias, reassembled with black strip inserted, cut horizontally, reassembled with light pattern strip inserted

Design 6: "Stack and whack" method: different strips were cut into triangles, then reassembled with, narrow strips inserted

Design 7a and b: Why not curved: left-over strips were pieced; a) darker tones, same value, b) lighter tones, same value, curved cut, then reassembled, curved cut lengthwise, reassembled
