Module 2 - Three-dimensional functional item

I chose the wing-shaped cushion for my assessment piece and tried to introduce some elements which are related to a bird's feather like the "spine" in the middle of the joining. I also sewed in prairie-points in the lower part of this side of the cushion. After the filling they popped up a little bit, an effect I really liked

The different pieces as well as the strips with the triangles were assembled with the paper piecing method,

The circles were reverse-appliquéd and allowed me to showcase some of my embroidered fabrics

I sewed in prairie-points in the gusset

I took up the feather theme and tried to make some out of fabric and thread. The fabric one is stuffed.

Module 2-Chapter 12

The first idea for a full size mock-up

For the second full size mock-up a chose the wing shape (my daughters actually say that it is a drop but I pretend that it is a wing). I like the idea of introducing further elements related to wings (birds), like feathers or textures reminding me of feathers)

I would like to keep enough freedom to be able to improvise on the way to the finished object, that's why I haven't chosen the fabrics yet for the final piece.
